Wynton Geary is a visionary leader who combines public health expertise, community advocacy, and servant leadership in his role as Program Manager for the Office of Minority Health at the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County. A graduate of Florida A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Florida State University with a master’s degree in Public Health, Wynton’s dedication to reducing health disparities began early in his academic journey. His passion for health equity was further ignited during his time with Big Bend AHEC, where he led the Closing the Gap initiative, improving access to preventive health services for underserved populations.
As a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Wynton exemplifies the values of servant leadership, advocating tirelessly for programs that strengthen families and communities. His leadership is defined by compassion, service, and a steadfast belief in equitable health care as a basic human right. Wynton’s commitment to early childhood services is personal—his oldest child benefited from the Early Learning Coalition’s programs, deepening his drive to support families and empower children.
With a history as a Public Information Officer, he has led successful campaigns to enhance health literacy and access to care. Wynton’s ongoing work is driven by a vision to create systemic change, eliminate health disparities, and ensure a healthier future for underserved communities.
